Usage Policy

Chiseko Agritech and Logistics Limited, trading as Sekonomics — Draft 1.0 for legal review15 September 2026

Related: Terms and Conditions · Data Policy

The rules for using Sekonomics: what you may and may not do with your account, your listings, other users' details and Market Intelligence data, and what happens if the rules are broken.

This Usage Policy sets out what you may and may not do on the Sekonomics platform operated by Chiseko Agritech and Logistics Limited (“Chiseko”, “we”, “us”). It forms part of our Terms and Conditions; words defined there have the same meaning here. If you breach this Policy we may take the steps described in section 9, up to deactivating your Account.

The Platform works only if a buyer can trust that a listing is real, a farmer can trust that a requirement is real, and everyone can trust that their phone number will not be misused. That is what these rules protect.

1. Who this Policy applies to
  • 1.1This Policy applies to everyone who uses the Platform: farmers and sellers, consumer and bulk buyers, Market Intelligence subscribers, transporters, partners, and anyone who browses the public pages without an Account.
  • 1.2Where you use the Platform on behalf of an organisation, you are responsible for making sure that everyone in your organisation who uses your Account follows this Policy.
2. Your Account and one-time passcodes
  • 2.1One person, one Account. Register in your own name (or your organisation's name) using a mobile phone number that you control. Do not create an Account for someone else, use someone else's phone number or NRC, or register more than one Account for the same person or business without our written agreement.
  • 2.2No account sharing. Your Account is for you. Do not let anyone else sign in to it, and do not sign in to anyone else's. If several people in your business need access, each should have their own Account [CONFIRM: the Platform currently supports one Account per phone number and has no ‘team member’ feature; if the founder wants shared business access, it must be built].
  • 2.3Sign-in is by a one-time passcode (OTP) sent by SMS or, where you have verified an email address, by email. The OTP is your signature on the Platform. Never share an OTP with anyone, including anyone claiming to be from Chiseko — Chiseko staff will never ask you for one. Do not forward OTP messages. If you receive an OTP you did not request, someone may be trying to use your number: ignore it and tell us.
  • 2.4OTP requests are rate-limited and each code expires after a short time. Repeatedly requesting codes for numbers you do not control, or attempting to guess codes, is a breach of this Policy and may be an offence.
  • 2.5Keep your details true. Your name, phone number, email address, organisation, address and, for farmers, your NRC or passport details and crops must be accurate and kept up to date. Do not impersonate anyone, claim a farm, business or authority you do not have, or use a misleading name.
  • 2.6Tell us straight away at info@chiseko.com or +260 960 821 404 if you lose control of the phone number or email address on your Account, or believe someone else has used it. We will help you secure it.
3. Listings: accuracy and no fake listings
  • 3.1Every Listing must describe real produce that you own, or are authorised by its owner to sell, and that you genuinely intend to supply. A Listing may describe a crop that is still in the ground or not yet planted, but only if you are actually growing or will grow it, in the quantity and window stated.
  • 3.2You must not:
    1. post a Listing for produce that does not exist, that you do not control, or that you have already sold;
    2. state a Grade higher than the produce will meet, or a quantity greater than you can supply;
    3. post a price you are not willing to sell at, or post a Listing to test the market or to draw buyers off the Platform;
    4. use photographs that are not of your own produce, or that are edited to hide defects;
    5. post the same produce more than once, or under more than one Account;
    6. describe produce as organic, certified, export-grade or similar unless you hold the relevant certification;
    7. list anything it is unlawful to sell, including protected wildlife or plant species, produce treated with banned chemicals, or produce that is stolen.
  • 3.3Keep your Listing current. Reduce the quantity as produce is sold elsewhere and withdraw the Listing as soon as the produce is no longer available. A Listing that stays live after the produce is gone wastes buyers' time and will be treated as a fake listing.
  • 3.4Every Listing is reviewed by a Chiseko administrator before it goes live and may be rejected or returned with a request for changes. Approval means the Listing passed review; it does not make an inaccurate Listing acceptable, and a Listing that was accurate at approval must be corrected if that changes.
  • 3.5Chiseko may edit a Listing's title, category or wording for clarity, may withdraw any Listing at any time, and may create Listings on behalf of a farmer with the farmer's agreement.
4. Requirements and expressions of interest
  • 4.1A Requirement posted on the demand board must describe produce your business genuinely intends to buy, in the quantity, Grade and timeframe stated. Do not post Requirements to collect farmers' contact details, to gauge prices with no intention of buying, or on behalf of a business you do not represent.
  • 4.2An expression of interest against a Requirement must state quantities and prices you can and will actually supply. Do not respond to Requirements for produce you do not have or cannot source.
  • 4.3Withdraw a Requirement when it is filled or no longer needed.
5. Other users' contact details — no harvesting
  • 5.1In a few places the Platform shows one user's contact details to another: for example, a buyer who posts a Requirement can see the name, phone number and email address of a farmer who expresses interest in it, and delivery details are shared with the transporter who carries an order. Those details are provided for one purpose only: to complete the specific trade in question.
  • 5.2You must not:
    1. collect, copy, extract or compile other users' names, phone numbers, email addresses or addresses from the Platform, whether by hand or by any automated means;
    2. use contact details obtained through the Platform for marketing, for adding people to WhatsApp groups or mailing lists, for recruiting them to another platform, or for any purpose other than the trade for which they were shared;
    3. sell, share or pass on other users' contact details to anyone else;
    4. contact another user in a way that is abusive, threatening, persistent after being asked to stop, or unrelated to a trade.
    5. use another user's details obtained through the Platform to deal with them off the Platform in order to avoid Chiseko's commission or fees, where a commission applies [FOUNDER TO CONFIRM: non-circumvention rule, mirroring the Terms and Conditions].
  • 5.3Misuse of another user's personal data may also be an offence under the Data Protection Act No. 3 of 2021, and Chiseko will cooperate with the Data Protection Commissioner and law enforcement in relation to it.
6. Market Intelligence data — no reselling
  • 6.1Market Intelligence is licensed to you for your own farming, trading or business planning, as set out in Part E of the Terms and Conditions.
  • 6.2You must not:
    1. resell, republish, broadcast or redistribute Market Intelligence data, dashboards, charts or reports, in whole or in substantial part, to anyone outside your own household or business, whether for payment or free;
    2. post Market Intelligence data to WhatsApp groups, social media, websites or newsletters, other than an individual figure quoted with attribution as permitted by the Terms and Conditions [FOUNDER TO CONFIRM: whether any quotation is permitted];
    3. scrape, crawl, bulk-download or systematically copy the data, or use scripts, bots or browser tools to extract it;
    4. use the data to build or train a competing service, price index or dataset for sale;
    5. give others access through your Account or by sharing OTPs.
  • 6.3Market Intelligence figures are indicative, not offers. Do not represent a figure from the Platform as a Chiseko price, a quotation, or a promise that produce can be bought or sold at that price.
7. Prohibited conduct
  • 7.1You must not use the Platform to:
    1. break any law of Zambia, or cause Chiseko to do so;
    2. defraud, mislead or deceive Chiseko or any user, including by fake Listings, fake Requirements, false Grade Claims or false delivery disputes;
    3. raise Grade Claims or Rejections without genuine cause; the Terms and Conditions attach a cost to every claim precisely because habitual complaining harms farmers;
    4. sell, offer or request produce or goods that are stolen, prohibited, unsafe or unlawfully treated;
    5. post content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, threatening, or that infringes anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
    6. send spam or unsolicited commercial messages to other users;
    7. interfere with the Platform's operation: probe, scan or test its security, attempt to bypass sign-in or access controls, upload malicious code, overload it with requests, or access data or Accounts you are not authorised to access;
    8. access the Platform by automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) except for search engines indexing public pages;
    9. reverse-engineer, copy or create derivative works from the Platform's software or design;
    10. misrepresent your relationship with Chiseko, or hold yourself out as a Chiseko agent, employee or partner unless you are one under a written agreement.
  • 7.2If you find a security weakness in the Platform, tell us at info@chiseko.com and do not exploit it or disclose it publicly until we have had a reasonable chance to fix it.
8. Content you post
  • 8.1You are responsible for the photographs, descriptions, reviews, messages and any articles or insights you post. They must be yours or used with permission, must be accurate, and must not breach section 7.
  • 8.2Reviews and ratings must reflect your genuine experience of the produce or user reviewed. Do not post reviews of your own produce, pay for or trade reviews, or post reviews to damage a competitor.
  • 8.3Chiseko may remove, edit or refuse to publish any content that breaches this Policy, without notice.
9. How we enforce this Policy
  • 9.1Chiseko's administrators have the following tools, and use them in proportion to the seriousness and repetition of the breach:
    1. Listing and Requirement review — reject a submission with a reason, or return it with a request for changes; the reason is shown to you in your Account;
    2. Withdrawal — take an approved Listing or Requirement off the Platform at any time, which also removes the linked store product;
    3. Content removal — remove reviews, photographs, articles or other content;
    4. Order cancellation — cancel an unfulfilled Order and refund any payment where the Order arose from a breach;
    5. Warning — a written notice by email, SMS or in your Account describing the breach and what must change;
    6. Account deactivation — switch off your Account so that you can no longer sign in. Deactivation does not delete your data (see the Data Policy) and can be reversed by an administrator;
    7. Subscription termination — end your Market Intelligence access for breach of section 6.
  • 9.2Each administrator action on an Account, a Listing or a Requirement is recorded in an audit log with the administrator responsible, the date and time, the change made and the reason. [CONFIRM: the Platform has no ‘temporary suspension with automatic reinstatement’ feature; a suspension is a deactivation that an administrator later reverses. This Policy describes the tooling as it exists.]
  • 9.3Normally we will warn you first and give you a reasonable time to put things right. We may act immediately and without warning where the breach involves fraud, a fake Listing or Requirement, misuse of another user's contact details, unlawful produce, a security threat, or a repeat of conduct we have already warned you about.
  • 9.4We will tell you the reason for a deactivation, withdrawal or removal unless the law prevents us. You may ask for the decision to be reviewed by writing to info@chiseko.com within fourteen (14) days, setting out why you believe it was wrong. A different administrator, or the founder, will review it and reply within fourteen (14) days.
  • 9.5Deactivation does not cancel amounts you owe, or amounts we owe you for produce already delivered, and does not affect Orders already confirmed unless we cancel them under this section.
  • 9.6Where a breach also breaks the law, we may report it to the police, the Data Protection Commissioner, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission or another authority, and may provide them with the relevant records.
10. Reporting a problem
  • 10.1If you see a Listing or Requirement you believe is fake, receive unwanted contact from another user, believe your details have been misused, or notice anything else that breaks this Policy, tell us at info@chiseko.com or +260 960 821 404 / +260 775 944 114, with the Listing, Requirement or Order number if there is one. We treat reports in confidence as far as we can.
  • 10.2Do not use the report process to make false accusations against another user; doing so is itself a breach of this Policy.
11. Changes to this Policy
  • 11.1We may update this Policy from time to time. The current version, with its date, is always published on the Platform. Material changes are notified in the same way as changes to the Terms and Conditions.
